At E3, Gamer Limit spent some quality time with the title, along with representatives from Techland and Deep Silver. After about 40 minutes poring over the nooks and crannies of the fictional island of Banoi, I must say that no other game captures the elements of survival and fear quite like Dead Island.It's enough to make this my E3 top pick.

The video offers a glimpse of the beginning of the zombie outbreak at this exotic resort. It's from the perspective of a partygoer, who's unfortunately a little too sauced for us to get a clear look at what's going on. Oh well, at least he had fun.

Set in an open world tropical island, hordes of different festering zombies await players around every corner while they embark on a variety of thrilling missions through the holiday resort.With firearms and ammunition being scarce the player must rely on discovering and utilizing items as weapons for self-defense and fighting off zombie hordes in intense melee combat. A diverse range of items can be collected and will later serve to transform the player's ordinary makeshift weapons into serious instruments of destruction.

Pre-Order Edition of Dead Island Is Announced

Deep Silver, ever since their incredible teaser trailer, has been ramping up our anticipation for their upcoming zombie game, Dead Island. We badly want to get our hands on it, and thus are thrilled to find that the pre-order edition has been officially announced! Like the first spring training game in baseball, the pre-order boxart is a sure sign that the time is nearly here. The full press release is below, but it looks like aside from a fancy box, you'll get some DLC, and an exclusive in-game weapon, which is a buzz saw bat called "The Ripper." SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! One of the few games that I was really looking forward to seeing this year at E3 was Dead Island. There is just something about Survival Horror that I can't get enough of, but recently the genre has been falling into the lines of camp and parody. Luckily, developer Deep Silver is looking to breathe some new life into these walking dead.
